Louisa Lo

I finally walked the red carpet last night. Now that all the networking is over I could concentrate on being girlie!

I have to say, even the lowest maintainence of all girls will find herself fussing over her first red carpet event. And I am much for wering make-up, I-want-my-LV type at all. But I think Kirk was ready to strangle me at one point because I took my time ironing out every inch of my vintage designer dress while he waits to accompany me to the Palais.

I have to say I really enjoyed it. People were not all snobby and superficial as I expected. Sure, I saw a lot of really beautiful well dress women, but I also sat next to this kind, down-to-earth couple from Belgium. Of course, there is always the chance that I was not intimdated because I know so little about fashion designers and should be worn on the red carpet this year. I was probably surrounded by it lol.

Orla and Derek were there too. Both looked like a million bucks. It was great to have friends there to help take pictures. There is just a small window of opportunity due to high security along the carpet – they kept trying to get people to move along.

As Orla and I exit the theater many photographers began to ask us to pose so that they could take our pictures…it was a fun experience-posing and smiling for the camera while on lookers wondered who we were. I mean, might as well, you only live once!

Well, I got two more red carpet events to go to. Yippie!
