The Producers Workshop In Cannes

The Marché du Film, host to the Producers Network during the Festival de Cannes has added a new program this year for emerging producers called The Producers Workshop. This workshop is reserved for producers who have little or no experience with the Marché du Film and the Festival de Cannes or who have just made their debut as producers on the international stage.

Festival Market & Distribution Seminar

Each year, in preparation for the Festival de Cannes, Film Market Access (FMA) provides a festival information session for participants who have been accredited by the Festival de Cannes.   This year, with the support of the Quebecor Cannes Market Fellowship, FMA will host a seminar entitled Festival Market and Distribution on March 20th from, 1 to 4 pm, at Cloud Café, (968 Queen St West). The focus of the seminar is to prepare producers and directors for one of the most highly recognized film festivals and markets.

The seminar will be present in two parts. Part one will be festival and market culture, staying focus and taking advantage of opportunities being offered by the festival/market. Part two will be on distribution and the various platforms – identified, build and stay connected with your niche audience within each platform. Plus what distributors do want you to know.

New Host Hotel for TIFF

The Toronto International Film Festival – Sales & Industry Office is pleased to announce that the Hyatt Regency on King will be the host hotel of the film festival in September. Located beside TIFF.Bell Lightbox in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District, the Hyatt Regency on King will house Festival offices, including: the Sales & Industry Registration Office and Pass Pick-Up Desk, Press Office, Programme Administration Office, the Industry Box Office and the TIFF Screening Library, as well as a number of Press and Industry lounges.

As well, the Press and Industry Screening venues will increase their presence in the new festival village. The festival is pleased to announce that the Scotiabank Theatre, located at the corner of Richmond and John streets, is also a Press and Industry screening venue. The Scotiabank Theatre is less than a five-minute walk from the Hyatt Regency and Bell Lightbox.
